Benwick in Cambridgeshire is a fenland village with a population of around 1200. The village sits between the nearby towns of Ramsey, Whittlesey, Chatteris and March. Benwick is a farming community, with the name originating from the old English 'Beymwich' meaning farm where beans are grown, or farm by a tree-trunk. The River Nene (old course) running through the village making it accessible by boat and the village has it's own mooring. The village currently has a primary school, a village shop and a pub.
